You can
easily produce the common genealogy charts – Ancestors, Descendents, and
Hourglass (combination) from the GDB: -
1.
Click
the link “Genealogy Charts” and a small Windows program is downloaded to your
computer.
2.
With
this program you search the database, and select the person on which the chart
is based. This does not have to be your
own record. You choose the chart type,
and click [Get Chart Data].
3.
The
program then displays the chart: -
4.
Charts
may be displayed and printed at scale factors from 10% to 100%. Low scale factors are great for showing the
structure of the chart, but the details of names and dates are not readable
5.
Charts
are “live” –clicking a cell opens the corresponding web page, while a
right-click menu lets you display new charts based on the person you’ve just
clicked, and you may be able to add ancestors and descendents to a chart.
